Tech Toppers — Design Library Rewards

NOT YET IN FORCE. This policy will apply when the public design library opens to customers. Until then nothing in it applies, and no reward, credit or voucher can be earned or issued under it. We will update this page and tell you when it starts.
This policy will form part of your contract with us when it takes effect. It sits alongside the Terms of Service, the Design & Content Policy and the Marketing & Image Use policy.

1. The two rewards

There will be two separate rewards, for two different things.
1.1 The publishing reward — for publishing your first design. A welcome discount for creating an account and publishing a design. It exists to get you started, and we expect you to spend it.
1.2 The sale reward — for designing something people buy. Store credit (or a voucher) credited to you whenever another customer buys a product printed with your design. There is no minimum order value on this, because it is a reward for a sale that has actually happened.

2. How each reward works

2.1 Publishing reward. A one-time discount, usable against an order above a minimum value, which we will state when the library opens. It is:
available on your first published design only;
limited to one per customer;
usable once;
valid for a stated period, after which it expires.
2.2 Sale reward. Credited to your account when another customer buys your design. It:
has no minimum order value — you can spend it on any order;
accumulates across your designs and across sales;
expires 12 months after it is issued;
requires an account. We cannot credit a reward to someone we cannot identify.

3. The important limits

3.1 You do not earn credit when you buy your own design. You can spend credit on anything, including your own design — but a sale to yourself earns nothing. This is what stops the scheme being a loop.
3.2 Rewards have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged for money, and they are not a debt we owe you.
3.3 Where a reward is issued as a voucher code, whoever holds the code can redeem it. We cannot police who you give a code to, so treat it like cash.
3.4 You cannot claim a reward retrospectively if you published without an account and created one afterwards.
3.5 If your account is closed, any credit and vouchers you hold are removed with it.

4. Expiry and removal

4.1 Rewards expire as set out above, and we will show you the expiry when we issue them.
4.2 Where you hold rewards with different expiry dates, we apply the ones expiring soonest first.
4.3 If a design is removed because it breaches our policies, any reward tied to it may be removed too.

5. Abuse

5.1 We may withhold, reverse or refuse a reward where we reasonably believe:
a published design is a trivial or bad-faith copy of another design, published in order to earn credit;
a reward has been obtained through duplicate accounts, false details or any other manipulation;
a design breaches the Design & Content Policy.
5.2 We will tell you if we withhold or reverse a reward, and why.
5.3 Where we remove a design for bad faith, we may also remove rewards earned from it.

6. Your tax position

6.1 Rewards in the form of store credit or vouchers are promotional credit, not payments for services. We do not operate payroll or withholding for them.
6.2 If you earn rewards regularly, you may be treated as trading, and any value you receive may be taxable in your hands. That is your responsibility to consider, and we are not able to advise you on it. If it applies to you, take your own advice.
7. Changes to this policy
7.1 We may change the value of the rewards, the minimum order value for the publishing reward, and how often rewards are issued. We will not change them retrospectively for a reward you have already earned.
7.2 We will publish the current figures on this page, and tell you when we change them.
